MG TD TF 1500 - TD - Production Numbers

I have been trying to make a list like this for some time and maybe now is the time. I am taking this information from the "TD History" & "Evan.. Car Numbers" Threads.
With permission, I would like to make this an ongoing thread to try and "crack the code" of the production number used for our TD's

This is the beginning of the list. With everyone's help & permission I would like to keep this going.
You can email me as well and I will keep a running tab. I have created this in Excel and I can sort it any way I choose. Pass along any information about your car you want to include or any information about other cars that you know of.
There is a very nice site in Australia that lists all numbers pertaining to TD's but I have been unable to locate one in the USA. I will ask if I can include that information in this "Master List" of the 30,000 or so TD's produced.

I need to know how I can post this excell spread shead for people to view. My TEST did not work the way I wanted it to. I may have to create a Web site for people to view I sort.

Let me know what you all think & let's try and keep this going.

There seem to be several people in North America making lists. To my knowledge, Jeff Payne, a TF list, Jerry Austin, a T series list, George Merson, T series list, and the New England MG T register has a member list.
Would be interesting to see a reconcliation of all.

Would be nice to have "all" the numbers and original colours (if known) on a list?

It seems that there is already a lot of work done by enthusiasts all over the world. Great initiative to bring it all together in one database. With the help of our modern computers it should be possible.
Good luck,
Nick 52TD/63midget.

Thanks. I emailed my info to George. It seems he is way ahead of me with 1000 cars. Only 28665 to go.<g>

Vin, I don't understand what you mean by '"crack the code" of the production number'. The Body Number mystique is beyond comprehension, but the Car No. is pretty straight forward from the beginning of TD productiom to the end.

I was referring to a bunch of threads that I was reading. It seems a bit of a mystery to some why the frist & second numbers vary & are not in order as one would think. First body number makes sense but the second does not fall in the same order.
I guess that calling my thread "Production Numbers" was not correct. I was trying to take into account all numbers pertaining to the car.
