MG TD TF 1500 - TDF rear spring question
Hello All - We bought a pair of rear springs a couple of weeks ago at Twist's Summer Party marked mg td TF, thinking they should or would be the same for both. After doing a little research found there are two different #'s and so they must not be interchangeable. Any words of wisdom or how would a novice tell them apart. TIA Sara |

If you are using them on a TF you will find that the rear of your TF will sit a little bit higher than a car with the original springs. Will only be noticeable when sitting side-by-side, don't think it will affect the handling. Stock TD does sit a little higher than TF, go figure! |

Hi Sara, I have had TD springs on my TF for many years now, slight rise in ride height,no longer hit bump stops on our atrocious roads and no appreciable difference in handling/roadholding. I don't know what a TD would be like on TF springs. I am sure somebody on this board will know what the unloaded arch is for either spring. You can see how little difference it makes and the spring arch in the photo Ray TF 2884. ![]() |
