MG TD TF 1500 - TD & other cars Auction on 7/21
Nice looking TD and other cars up for auction July, 21. Looks like opening bid, $3000 + 18% buyers premium. Could be a bargain. http://www.bidspotter.com/forms/event.php?event=18523 |

Nice stuff! Slight "oops" in the listing: "1951 mg td Car - Original 4 Cylinder, Rumble Seat, Been restored from the frame up" Good looking TD. |

It never ceases to amaze me but IMHO I cant stand vynal tops. They just look tacky. That given I realize to each his own. just my opinion. otherwise appears a decent car, wonder what it will go for. |

NOt a bad price. I would have said 12-14 so it is in the ballgame. |

Jim, Any idea what the 36 Ford sold for? Gene |

Gene, My wife wanted that Willys pickup with the Ford 289, but by the time we got back from our club tour of Moldex Crankshaft, where I bought a billet crank, the auction was over. Didn't have time to prebid before leaving, but wouldn't have given that kind of money for it. We did get back in time to glance at winning bids- wanted to see what the TD and Willys went for. As mentioned, TD $15k. The Willys $10k. Skimmed the others and I believe that 36 Ford stood out as highest auction, maybe $26,500 or thereabouts. The Mercedes was $4500 or 7500 or so. Just my recollection of a glance down the list. Would've like to compare supercharged TDs and swap lies at St. Charles, Gene, but I just had knee replaced and won't be heading over. Have Fun! JIM |
