MG TD TF 1500 - TF 1500???

Hello

Over here in the Netherlands I can purchase a MG TF with chassisnr TF 2460.
It was imported from the States as a basketcase,and it is supposed to be a 1500.Can anybody confirm that??

Erik, perhaps the vehicle identification number information on the Original MG TF website will help -- see link. You might also tell us if the manufacturers plate is in place and what the complete number is.

No way it can be a 1500 if the serial # is 2460. Serial numbers start about HDx/46 6500. But I don't understand TF 2460 unless it is somehow confused with HDx/46 2460, or it is the frame number. It could be TF 2460 stamped on the left front frame.

Not a 1500, they are ~6500 to 10100

Could they possibly be referring to just the engine, i.e., it has a 1500 instead of a 1250?

Hello,

Thank you all for your help.

Didn't buy the TF as there was only a rolling chassis
with some spare parts, but no engine, no dashboard, and no interior.

I have a TD already and this seemed to be to much work
