MG TD TF 1500 - TF BUMPER BOLTS

These are the original bumper bolts for my TF, compared to those supplied by Abington Spares, and Moss.
Are the original bolts available anywhere?

Mike, I think the rear bolts are longer than the front. I'll check mine and get back. PJ

Mike , I'd give Moss a call and have them look for you. The larger headed bolt on the right looks like the bolts on my TD. The smaller head looks like those that came in the bumper kit...purchased from Moss about 6 years ago. Also the smaller head job looks the same as the ones on my B bumper. The Moss online catalog shows the same for the TD and TF but mine are surely different.

Are both of the left ones your originals? They are a little different from each other Length correct for front and rear, TD and TF, heads rather rounded and domed, and not very wide. I'm basing this on several known original car bumpers I have seen over the years and/or worked on. The bolt on the right looks like something from a big box store. If that is what they are supplying as the correct bolts now, shame on them!! Over the years I have seen repros with the correct head with different threads, as well as threaded all the way, and just partially. George

Pending how deep you are into originality.

I picked up bright stainless cup head bolts for my TF on "Fleabay" out of the UK, simple task to cut to lengths required.

Thanks or your comments.
I'll check into the MGB lead.

I bought 5 on eBay, advertised as mg td. They looked correct in the ad. When I went to Install the heads were correct, the threads were correct, but they were too short. I could use obe in the center of the rear bumper. I made the rest from SS carriage bolts.

I carefully matched the original heads using a roundover bit on the lathe. I buffed them to a shine. I cut them to lrngrh and i used Whitworth nuts which match the BSF that should gave been there.

Short of removing the nut they look identical.
