MG TD TF 1500 - TFs Coming Along

Well, the chassis is coming along just fine. Once I get the new tie rod ends and the new rack boots, the front will be done. Progress, I love progress! (Grin). PJ

Did you have the old bolts plated or are those all new bolts?

The bolts are new Richard. Reason being, when someone in the past re did this car, I believe they had a bucket of bolts and grabbed anything that would go in the hole, regardless of make, type or thread count. So, that's why all new grade 8 bolts. Two bolt holes in one of the shock mounts were completely stripped out. To repair them I had to go 1 size over. Since I can't stand the idea of different bolts holding one shock over the other, both shock mounts were re done to match. It's not a concourse restoration anyway and their actually stronger than original. PJ

They look good, I purchased one of the copy cad kits from Caswell thinking they would look good plated then again I have also considered bluing them and the Eastwood bluing kits are pretty quick and easy.
LOL I waste alot of time just thinking about how I want to do things.

Love those two high intensity driving lamps on the front of the inner A frame pivots.
The balance looks beautiful too.

Looks A1 PJ. It's nice to see others progress. I'm at the the same stage on my TD. The other night I went out and wrench checked all the nuts and bolts. Sure enough found one loose.

Sandy, I was thinking of putting a patent on those," Driving Lights". (Grin). Kinda blew my mind when I first saw that photo. Don't look that way in the real though, thank goodness. PJ
