Triumph TR6 - Rusted Body Parts

I'm restoring my '76 TR6. I've had the car for ten years and decided she needs a make over. The floor pans and inner/outer rocker panels are rusted out. I need help in determinig what is the best method to use in replacing the rusted body parts. What critical measurements are needed and where are they made? How should I approch the removal of old parts, and the installation new parts? What are the concerns in doing the best job and how do I overcome them? Can anyone recommend a good book on the restoration of Triumphs cars? I have a friend who is a certified welder and will be helping me on this project. Any tips you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Jos.
I supposed that Arizona is snow free, This mean mostly it is most surface rust. The best thing is to have it sandblasted tu know the xtreal damage to that body. If some hole it coulsd be repair by MIG welding. But as every fender and door could be remove, it is easy to see the real damage underneath. One part that I replace were the floorpan as being to thin and I was unable to do a nice job and they are at an affordable price. My only books is Haynes and I found parts at TRF (nice catalog) or Moss. But in your area you could find parts somewhere else. Have a look at the monster list of scion of lucas.
Bon courage, Jean G.
