Is it Winter where you reside?
DON KELLY

Not 'till Dec 21 but I did pick up our Christmas tree today.
Ken Shaddock

In the 6?
DON KELLY

Well.....It might just be here..... maybe!?
Ya think?

(and this was before I got the hardtop on!)

Hello,

In Québec city, it is 33F day, 26F night. Today a bright sun no trace of snow. We are luckier than our south of the border neighbour.

Cheers,

Hi Chaps
Long time since I was on the site, lots of things happening in my life, but sadly not on the car. I mat be moving to rhe Brampton area in January with a company move.

Anyway we woke up this morning to about 2" of the white stuff, as we are not allowed to say S**W...yet.

Everyone have a safe and enjoyable Christmas...Slangie

Oops... it has arrived. Here's my view as I sip my morning coffee on Dec 6... Alas, time to morph into a snowbird. Make sure I-65 is in good shape on Jan 9 Doug!

Ken Shaddock

Don... "In the 6?"

Now that would have been cool. There was no snow on the ground... roads were dry and clean so it could have been done. That kind of thing, when living in small towns, gets one in the newspaper. Probably not a good idea. The neighbours already shake their heads about my refusing to grow old.

Ken Shaddock

Ken, same scene at our place, but a tad less white stuff. We had about 1 1/2 when I awoke on Sat morning, 5 Dec. More on the mountain. Must have been the same storm activity as yours. Mostly gone by mid-day after the sun was out, but still in the shade and on the vegatation a couple of days later. This may be all we see this year, but it could come a blizzard tomorrow. Well, maybe not tomorrow, supposed to be in the 50's and rainy.

12 car pile up on 565 Sat morning. Idiots that try to drive in snow and ice w/o proper precaution.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip south. I-65 should be clear, even if the country side is not.

Hi Guys:
First storm - 39 cm of the white stuff yesterday - Dec 6th. Cold as a mother-in-law's kiss too. I think it's Winter. Ugh!

Cheers,
Bob
Bob Evans

What's a cm?
Some kind of foreign measurement?
DON KELLY

Don,
It's like an inch...only not as big!!

In 1977 our beloved federal government told us we'd be much better off using the metric system and spent millions to change all the country's signs. I was just getting used to bushels, pecks, furlongs, fathoms, rods, US gallons, and chains.
Ken Shaddock

Aye and a keg, barrel, hogshead, cask and butt, too I'd imagine!! Not to mention a wee dram!!

It's a Newfoundland expression...has something to do with cod or makerel.

Well, its -32 here in Regina this morning. The forecast says its likely to stay this way until the weekend, when its supposed to turn cold. TR6 is snug in its corner of the garage.

If those folks in Copenhagen decide we have to stop burning fuel to keep warm, you folks down south realize that we'll all be coming to live with, how do you say it, y'all?

God bless the inventor of indoor plumbing.

Tony
A. J. Koschinsky

Tony, -32 F. or -32C.
Or does it matter at that temp?
DON KELLY

That would be C. It would only be around -25F. No wonder things seem colder since we went metric.

As British car lovers you'll enjoy this little story. My good spouse's car wouldn't start yesterday after work. It automatically turns the head, tail and side lights on when you start the car. But if you want the dash lights to come on, you have to turn the switch. If you do, when you shut the car off the headlights turn off, but everything else stays on. You can guess what I forgot to do yesterday morning when I used her car. The geniuses that thought this bit of programming was a good idea? Jaguar.

Okay guys... it has gotten silly out there. Toronto is clear and sunny but 80 miles north of the city in the snowbelt we have 12 to 15 inches on the ground with another 12" expected. HWY is closed in places, school buses cancelled, police asking people to stay off the roads, visibilty is poor to zero in white-outs. Makes me want to sing Christmas carols... not. We now look like Bob & Doug McKenzie's Great White North. Time for a beer eh.

Ken Shaddock

Ken
Its blue, sunny, but the wind is very cold here in Nova Scotia. After your weather report, I dont want to move to Mississauga/Brampton. So tell me are there a lot of parts dealers in the area?

Oh by the way chaps, Hot Wheels have 2 TR6 diecast models out...Walmart is best chance of getting them.

Guys, 17F last night in Huntsville Alabama. Y'all really didn't have to send that jet stream this far south!! Had to cut the sprinkler water off!! Expected to warm up to freezing today!! Don, winter has definitely arrived!

Been below freezin here all week. The garage heater was running a lot as it is set on 40 for a low kick on.
Might drive the Wedge today as snow might fall this week end.
DON KELLY

Don. If you drove the Wedge here you'd be plowing snow so I'll follow.

Les. Yes, there are several but the prices seem high... as though the Looney was still down. I still buy from the US most of the time which should not be. If Ontario prices were competitive and service as good as TRF, BPNW, Rimmer in UK, LBC Co., and so on I'd buy local. Heck, there's an old British Leyland Sales & Service Dealer selling parts and servicing big & little BC's 30 miles south of me in Barrie. They want 35% over Moss catalog.
Ken Shaddock

And Ken, for a few bucks invested with Charles you can get 33% less that Moss with TRF!!
db
Doug Baker

Yep, I recall that chat Doug.
Ken Shaddock

8% now
DON KELLY

Don, that's the ROI, which still ain't bad in today's markets. You still get 33% discount on almost everything Charles lists in his catalogs.

Great if your rebuilding a car
DON KELLY

Yeah, well, I keep thinking someday this adventure of restoration is gonna really end with a drivable thingie!!
